Android testers
Help us test the Android app.
The Hedgehog Chef app for Android is nearly ready. Before Google Play opens it to everyone, at least 12 people need to test it for 14 days in a row. If you have an Android phone and live in the US, we'd be glad of your help.
How it works
Three steps, then 14 days.

Join the tester group
Join our Google Group with the Google account your phone's Play Store uses. That's how Google Play knows you're a tester.

Opt in and install
Once the build is published (planned for around 19–20 October), open the testing link on your phone, tap Become a tester, then install Hedgehog Chef from Google Play. On your home screen it's called Hedgehog.

Stay in for 14 days
Keep the app installed and stay in the test for 14 days. Use it the way you cook: save a few recipes, plan some dinners, shop a list. If you leave early, Google may not count the days and the public release waits longer.
The tester group
Write to hello@hedgehogchef.com from the Google account your phone's Play Store uses, and we'll add you to the group.
The Google Play testing link
It works once the build is published, around 19–20 October. Open it on your phone, signed in with the same Google account.
Who can join
What you need
- An Android phone with the Google Play Store.
- A Google account: the one signed in to the Play Store on that phone.
- You live in the United States. Hedgehog Chef is only available in the US for now.
- You're 18 or older, like everyone who uses Hedgehog Chef.
For testers
What you get
- The Android app before it's on Google Play for everyone.
- Hedgehog Chef Plus free for as long as you keep your account. We'll send you a private code.
- A direct line to us. A person reads every message and replies within one business day.
- The same account on the web at app.hedgehogchef.com, with everything in sync.

Tell us what happened
Email hello@hedgehogchef.com. Say which phone and Android version you have, what you tapped, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot helps.
For a recipe that came in wrong, open it and use ⋯ → Report a problem. It sends us the recipe as you see it.
Your privacy
This page collects nothing
There's nothing to fill in here. When you join the Google Group, we see your Google account's email address. We use it only for this test and to write to you about it.
To leave, open the testing link and choose Leave the program, or leave the group. The privacy policy covers the app itself.
