What a paused kitchen can still do
When a trial ends without a subscription, or a subscription ends, the kitchen pauses for everyone in it. Nothing is deleted, and subscribing again brings it all back.

Pick up where you left off
- Sign in. Instead of the app you see a screen saying the kitchen's trial or subscription has ended.
- If you're the owner, choose Individual or Family there and subscribe. Everything comes back at once.
- If you're not the owner, ask them to subscribe; only the owner can.
- Want your recipes either way? Use Export your recipes on the same screen.
What works in a paused kitchen
- The owner can subscribe.
- Anyone in the kitchen can export the recipes, delete their account or sign out.
- The API still lets you read recipes out.
What stops
- Adding or changing anything: recipes, plans, lists and the pantry are kept but can't be edited.
- AI features, imports, grocery prices and Kroger.
- Claude and other AI apps connected to the kitchen, and calendar feeds.
- New people joining.
