AI photos and the “AI photo” label
A recipe saved without a photo can get one made by AI. Every generated photo carries an “AI photo” label, and your own photo always replaces it.

Steps
- Open the recipe and tap ⋯ (More actions).
- Under Photo, choose Upload photo to use your own, Generate new photo for another try, or Remove photo.
- To stop new recipes getting a photo, turn off Create photos for new recipes in Settings › Preferences.
- To fill in every recipe without a photo at once, use Settings › Recipe photos.
The label
Generated pictures show “AI photo” (just “AI” on small thumbnails), in the app and when printed, so nobody mistakes one for the real dish.
How they're made
Photos are painted by Cloudflare Workers AI from the recipe's title, ingredients and course; nothing else is sent. Each kitchen can make 150 a day. They need AI features turned on for you.
